About the role
The School of Computing and Engineering at Quinnipiac University seeks part-time faculty members for Civil and Mechanical Engineering courses starting in the Spring 2025 semester.
Responsibilities
- MER 340L – Manufacturing/Machine Design Lab (1 credit): Must be during the day. Working in the machine shop, this laboratory provides experiential learning in manufacturing techniques, tool usage, and machine operation. Students engage in measurement and fabrication exercises leading to the design and manufacture of a mechanical engineering product.
- MER 320 – Thermodynamics (3 credits): Focuses on thermodynamics, applying conservation principles for mass, energy, and linear momentum, and the second law of thermodynamics. The course covers power generation systems, refrigeration cycles, total air conditioning, and engine performance (Otto and Diesel cycles) and high-performance aircraft (Brayton cycle).
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent candidates with practical experience or professional licensure will be considered.
- Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
