Part-time Faculty: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor
About the role
Lakeland Community College invites qualified nursing professionals to join our Health Technologies Division as part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructors.
Responsibilities
- Teach the HLTH 1350 – Certified Nursing Assistant course, offered both at a local partner high school and on our main campus.
- Involves in-person classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
- Clinical sites may vary depending on enrollment and clinical-site availability.
- Courses are scheduled during daytime and afternoon hours.
Requirements
- Current and unencumbered RN license in the State of Ohio.
- Two years (3200 hours) of experience working as a registered nurse with at least one of those years (1600 hrs) of which must be in the provision of long term care facility services.
- Must have successfully completed a TTT program according to the Ohio administrative code OR one year experience in teaching adults and possesses the training manual required by rule 3701-18-21 of the administrative code from an approved train the trainer program OR within the previous three years provided at least one year (1600 hrs) of direct supervision of nurse aides in a long term care facility as a registered nurse.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current, State approved credentials in a Train the Trainer, Nurse Aid Training program.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
Conditions of Employment
- Candidates are required to provide documentation from a current/former employer on letterhead regarding the hours worked at a geriatric care facility (nursing home, home health, chronic care, hospice, etc.).
Compensation
Part-time faculty earn $792/unit of load for Didactic. Clinical compensation is 0.5 unit of load per student.
