Part-Time Extended Day Teacher

About the role

We are hiring a Part-Time Extended Day Guide for our Guidepost Montessori school at Central West End!

Responsibilities

• Create a calm and joyful end to each child's day
• Support the after-school program for children ages 0-6
• Facilitate a mix of structured and open-ended activities
• Prepare materials and maintain an orderly space
• Supervise and engage with children in a warm, respectful way
• Welcome and engage with families at pick-up, ensuring a smooth transition home
• Partner with the school team to ensure a smooth transition from the school day to extended care
• Contribute ideas and feedback to help strengthen the extended day experience

Requirements

• Experience working with young children in a school, childcare, or camp setting
• A reliable, adaptable, organized, and proactive mindset
• A warm, patient, and engaging presence with children and families
• Ability to take initiative while also collaborating closely with a team
• A genuine love for working with young children
• Interest in learning and growing within the Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience is welcome but not required)

Qualifications

• Fully sponsored Montessori diploma training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute
• Competitive pay: $18.00 - $20.00 hourly, depending on experience

Schedule

• This is a part-time position supporting our after-school program, and typically works between 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
