Part Time Event Police Officer

Job Summary/Basic Function

To carry out assigned activities, operations and programs within the police department including routine foot patrol, traffic control, crime prevention and events. Primary and principle duties also consist of the prevention and detection of crime and the enforcement of criminal statutes or ordinances of the state or any of its political subdivisions.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Utah Driver License.
• Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) SFO State Certification (Active Status).
• Work a minimum of 20 hours every 6 months.
• Letter of good standing with current employer.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use word processing software required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree.
• Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T) LEO State Certification (Active Status).
• Currently employed full time as a Law Enforcement Officer.
• Experience working large crowd events and traffic control.

Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
