About the role

Join our team to assist and prepare over 200,000 servicemen and women who separate annually from the United States Military as they begin a new civilian chapter. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support transitioning servicemen and women through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP), which offers job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements, and employer outreach worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, apprenticeship program placements, and employer outreach as part of the Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
• Guide transitioning military servicemembers in identifying goals and assist with recognizing employment or education gaps.
• Conduct large group instruction and provide individual counseling on the job search process.
• Provide Military Servicemembers (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans with a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and participation in technical programs and schools.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or three (3) years of experience as a professional trainer or facilitator.
• Knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirements for entry into those jobs.
• Demonstrated ability to provide training to groups of up to 50 participants and individual career counseling experience.
• Proficient in MS Windows and Office.
• Able to communicate effectively with Military clients, comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, observant of others, able to engage an audience, and respond to inquiries independently.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
