About the role
At Brightmont Academy, we offer a unique teaching model where teachers focus on one student at a time. Since 1999, we've helped students in grades 1–12 achieve their full potential through personalized one-to-one instruction.
Responsibilities
- Tailor lessons to individual student needs and learning styles
- Guide students to mastery using a gradual release approach
- Build confidence and academic success in each student
- Focus solely on teaching, with no extra work like lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading
- Enjoy professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching career
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in your subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics—anything that fuels your passion!)
- Patience and empathy to support diverse learners
- A genuine passion to share your subject with the next generation
- Proficiency in using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS)
- The ability to provide fingerprints (only required in Arizona and Washington) and pass a federal background check
Bonus Qualifications
- Orton Gillingham training
- A teaching certification (nice to have, but not required)
- An advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience
