Responsibilities
- Tailor lessons to individual student needs and learning styles
- Guide students to mastery through a gradual release approach
- Build confidence and academic success in students
- Focus on inspiring students rather than administrative tasks like lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in your subject area (English, Social Studies, History, Government, Economics—anything that fuels your passion!)
- Patience & Empathy: Understand that every student learns differently and commit to supporting them
- A Heart for Teaching: Passionate about sharing your subject with the next generation
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS)
- Ability to provide fingerprints (AZ, WA, only) and pass a federal background check
Bonus Qualifications
- Orton Gillingham trained
- Teaching certification - nice to have, but not required!
- Advanced degree in a specific subject area of expertise
- Previous one-to-one teaching experience
