Part Time Educator-PA - Lower Merion School District
About the role
Educator Right At School provides local school districts with before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. The role involves inspiring a love of learning, supporting schools, and giving families peace of mind by fostering a safe, engaging environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
- Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Lead by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
- Monitor Environment: Address potential hazards, follow safety protocols, document attendance, incidents, and observations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
Requirements
- Pay Rate: $15.00-$18.00 (based on education and experience)
- Program Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00-9:10AM and 3:45PM-6:00PM
- Education and Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age; ability to lift 25lbs; works well in a team environment; CDA preferred; HS Diploma/GED with 600+ hours of secondary training or 15 credit hours in early childhood ed, child dev, special ed, elementary ed, or the human services field plus 1 year of experience; or HS Diploma/GED with 2 years experience.
