Part-Time Education Abroad Advising & Engagement Coordinator
Penn State Global is seeking a highly organized and student-focused part-time Education Abroad Advising & Engagement Coordinator at Penn State's University Park campus. This role supports the daily operations of the Education Abroad Advising and Engagement team by coordinating and mentoring a team of 11 undergraduate peer advisers.
About the role
This position will join the Education Abroad Advising and Engagement team in mid- to late August 2026, with the appointment continuing through the spring 2027 semester. This is a part-time role averaging 16 hours per week. Applicants must have availability between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; work schedules will be arranged within those hours.
The position is intended for recent graduates, current graduate students, or other professionals seeking part-time employment. It is not open to current undergraduate students.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary day-to-day coordinator for a team of 11 undergraduate peer advisers who provide in-person and virtual advising services to prospective education abroad students.
- Provide guidance, answer questions, and support peer advisers in their daily responsibilities while helping ensure smooth office operations.
- Coordinate peer adviser schedules, assist with office hour coverage, and help arrange coverage for presentations, outreach events, and other office needs.
- Welcome students at the front reception desk during peer adviser drop-in hours and scheduled education abroad advising appointments.
- Assist with managing the office's shared email account by responding to general student inquiries or routing questions to appropriate staff.
- Support the Education Abroad Advising and Engagement team with outreach activities, administrative projects, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative and working independently.
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting undergraduate student employees.
