About the role

The Part-Time Early Childhood Floater works collaboratively with the preschool team to ensure a high-quality program that aligns with YMCA values and early childhood best practices. This position assists Lead Teachers and Teachers in their classrooms and fills in for them in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teachers and Teachers in their classrooms
• Assist with cooking, prepping and serving meals
• Give Lead Teachers and Teachers breaks and lunch breaks
• Care for children ranging in ages from birth–5 years
• Fill in for Lead Teachers and Teachers in their absence
• Create a safe, inclusive environment by following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members

Requirements

• Be 18 years old
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Have reliable transportation
• Be a positive and proactive person
• Have great communication skills
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Bend and lift up to 50 pounds
