Title/Role: IN-IVH- Part Time Dentist Worksite Address: IVH 3851 N River Rd, West Lafayette, IN 47906 CAI Contract Manager (CAI Use Only): Anna Zelko Engagement Type: Contract Pay Rate: $ 0.01-100 / hr Job Summary Part-time Indiana-licensed Dentist needed to provide on-site geriatric dental care at Indiana Veterans' Home, 1-2 days/week (up to 8 hours total), focusing on age-related oral health conditions including those linked to Alzheimer's and cognitive decline. Roles And Responsibilities Conduct initial oral assessments and interpret portable radiographsDesign daily mouth care plans and oversee fluoride applications/cleaningsPerform fillings, treat periodontal disease, extract loose/decaying teeth, and repair or reline denturesPrescribe antibiotics/analgesics and coordinate with facility medical staff on polypharmacy-related oral side effects (e.g., dry mouth)Assess resident oral health using standardized nursing facility assessment tools for regulatory complianceEducate nursing/caregiving staff on daily oral hygiene for residents with cognitive or physical decline Experience 2+ years practicing general dentistry (exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures, crowns)2+ years in geriatric dental care (dry mouth, root caries, periodontal disease)2+ years ensuring CDC & OSHA infection control compliance (PPE, handwashing, single-use item disposal) Key Skills General dentistry proficiency across exams, restorations, and prosthodontic repairsGeriatric and cognitive-decline-focused dental careInfection control protocol adherenceCross-functional coordination with nursing/medical staff Eligibility & Qualifications Current unrestricted Indiana dental licenseDDS or DMD from an accredited institutionCurrent CPR certificationMust meet OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, ISDH, and VA guidelinesPreferred: VA, military, or FQHC setting experience; sedation dentistry or disability-patient experienceDesired: Familiarity with dental implants and prosthodontics
