Part-Time Dental Hygienist (RDH) – Salem

About the practice

Smile Designers is a well-established, privately owned dental practice in Salem, Massachusetts. After more than 20 years with our practice, our longtime hygienist is retiring in December, and we’re looking for someone to join our friendly, close-knit team. We take pride in providing quality dental care and making our patients feel comfortable and welcome. Many of our staff members have been with us for years, and we value the relationships we’ve built with both our patients and each other.

Pay

$58–$62 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule

• Part-time, 2–3 days per week
• Flexible choice of days
• Typically 8-hour shifts, with option for 6-hour shifts
• Regular weekly schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide routine dental cleanings and preventive care
• Perform periodontal assessments, charting, and periodontal therapy
• Take dental radiographs and maintain accurate clinical records
• Review patient charts for radiographs that may be due or previously recommended treatment that hasn’t been completed, and discuss follow-up needs with the dentist and patient
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care
• Work closely with the dentist and other team members to provide quality patient care

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts dental hygienist license
• Good communication and patient care skills
• New graduates and experienced hygienists welcome
• Gentle, friendly, upbeat, and reliable demeanor
• Enjoys getting to know patients, listens to concerns, and makes them feel comfortable
• Positive attitude and genuine team player
