Part-time Dental Assistant Instructor

About the Role

Blackhawk Technical College is seeking a part-time Instructor for the Dental Assistant program. This position will provide laboratory instruction to dental assistant students in the Dental Chairside courses.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Assess learning outcomes at the unit, course, and program levels.
• Fulfill assigned teaching schedule and maintain accurate student attendance and grade records.
• Maintain a safe instructional environment, including equipment security and housekeeping.
• Ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
• Participate in instructional team activities, including planning, development, scheduling, and budgeting.
• Support students as a mentor and role model in achieving their learning and career goals.
• Meet Wisconsin Technical College System requirements through the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
• Develop, revise, and update competency-based curriculum and instructional materials aligned with employer expectations and college policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dental or a related field. Candidates with an Associate Degree in Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene may be considered.
• Minimum of two (2) years of full-time, recent, and related occupational experience.
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
• Background in and current knowledge of dental assisting, the specific subjects taught, and educational theory and methodology (e.g., curriculum development, educational psychology, test construction, measurement, and evaluation).
