Part-time Daytime Merchandise Sales Associate

Starting pay is $13.00 per hour.

About the role

The Daytime Merchandise Sales Associate plays an important role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience for fans visiting the Carolina Pro Shop at Lenovo Center. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting guests with merchandise selections, and creating a welcoming, team-focused retail environment. This position is important in preparing the arena for game days and events.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with merchandise selection and purchases.
• Process sales transactions accurately using Teamwork point-of-sale system.
• Receive, tag, price, and restock merchandise shipments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor.
• Ensure product displays are visually appealing and reflect current promotions.
• Notify fans of ongoing events and promotions.
• Perform opening procedures, including preparing the sales floor and registers for business.
• Help monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
• May have to work with Ecommerce team to coordinate in-store pickup orders.
• Willing to learn Carolina Hurricanes and NHL regulations for customized jerseys.
• Support teammates with daily store operations and other assigned duties to ensure a positive fan experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills as well as exceptional attention to detail.
• Previous register experience preferred but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation to Lenovo Center.
• Must be able to provide information and answer questions for customers.
• Should be able to stand for long periods of time including walking up and down stairs and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must have weekend and holiday availability.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Schedule

• Shifts will vary Monday through Friday 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
• Position will work 10-30 hours per week and special events as needed.

Qualifications

• Passion for sports and the Carolina Hurricanes is a plus.
