Part-Time Day Porter (Sat-Sun 7am-11am)

About the Role

The ParkX Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in an office environment. This role ensures that all office areas—including floors, desks, restrooms, kitchens, and meeting rooms—are properly cleaned and maintained, providing a professional and comfortable environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work professionally and courteously with property staff, tenants, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all office areas, including floors, desks, restrooms, kitchens, and meeting rooms.
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Complete daily cleaning and janitorial tasks as assigned by the Senior Operations Manager, Janitorial.
• Report to assigned location in the approved ParkX Porter uniform before the start of the work shift.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and cleaning standards.
• Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor with all site visitors, property staff, and guests.
• Assist management teams with special cleaning or maintenance requests as needed.
• Maintain a neat and orderly janitorial closet and storage areas, free of debris and hazards.
• Complete required end-of-shift documentation and ensure proper transfer of responsibilities to the next shift.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and ensure safe and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Notify management of any situation that may require their attention, including safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damages.
• Follow all cleaning schedules and checklists accurately.
• Document and report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or damages.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Attend team meetings that impact janitorial operations.
• Complete maintenance or cleaning tasks according to the company’s maintenance checklists.
• Fill in for coworkers during their absences.
• Promptly address and resolve cleanliness concerns in a first-class manner consistent with ParkX guidelines.
• Maintain equipment through regular maintenance and preventative care.
• Report equipment damage to management.
• Be available for weekend and after-hours work, particularly during events or peak periods.
• Understand and promote corporate goals, core values, and departmental responsibilities.
• Comply with ParkX’s policies on call-outs, time off, and timeliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license without major violations.
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends for events.
• Outgoing personality with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people and build/maintain strong relationships.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and/or reach.
• Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
• Work under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold), under variable noise levels, outdoors/indoors, around fumes and/or hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, chemicals, and bio-hazards.

Pay

Virginia Compensation Range: $16 USD - $17 USD. This range reflects a reasonable estimate and considers multiple factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. It does not reflect adjustments for geographic differentials. New hires typically do not start at or near the top of the posted range. Compensation is determined based on the unique circumstances of each candidate.

Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program may be available, subject to its rules and dependent on individual and organizational performance.
