Part Time CT/Radiology Tech-WEEKENDS

To provide high-quality, patient-focused health care services within the scope of practice through physician orders in accordance with Texas State Laws and Regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow prescribed techniques for producing general and specific x-rays and CT scans for diagnostic purposes.
• Perform laboratory testing according to industry standards of practice and CLIA.
• Prepare patient for x-ray/CT scan, explain procedure, and prepare room, equipment, and materials.
• Position patient and arrange immobilization/support devices.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff.
• Adjust equipment controls, determine proper voltage, and exposure time.
• Administer routine x-ray exams and observe patient/machine during procedure.
• Report unusual occurrences and record patient’s condition; document procedures in patient chart.
• Clean and disinfect radiology room/equipment; maintain and order supplies.
• Perform radiology quality assurance tests and maintain records.
• Assist with front-end registration or clerical duties as necessary.
• Provide patient care tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with triage as delegated by RN/physician.
• Support facility maintenance (e.g., emptying trash, unpacking linens, keeping facility tidy).
• Master immunoassay instrument procedures (calibrations, controls, reagents, sample testing).
• Perform daily immunoassay machine maintenance and comply with OSHA/CLIA standards.
• Conduct patient interviews and complete lab paperwork.
• Decant urine specimens and perform immunoassay testing per protocols.
• Perform laboratory testing on patient samples, including controls/calibrations.
• Execute corrective actions and routine lab equipment maintenance.
• Prepare assay reports for physician records and contact technical support as needed.
• Dispose of hazardous/non-hazardous waste per OSHA guidelines.
• Prepare lab billing sheets and supply insurance information to billing company.
• Maintain inventory of consumables, supplies, and paperwork.
• Assist in lab operations (inventory, accounting, marketing) as directed.
• Report clinical/equipment/business issues to Nurse Manager immediately.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Currently licensed as ARRT in Texas with documented CT scanning experience.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Current Texas MRT License in good standing.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to perform CT procedures without constant supervision.
• Ability to assist with sterile procedures.
• Continuing education hours for license renewal per state guidelines.
• Pass background check(s).
• At least 2 years of Radiology and CT experience preferred; free-standing Emergency Center experience a plus.
• Exceptional technical skills and ability to work with patients of all ages.
• Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR/EMP systems, and basic typing.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements for radiological procedures.
• Ability to read/write medical terminology accurately.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care.
• Willingness to work all shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multitask.
• Reliable transportation.

Physical Demands
