Part-time Community Events Staff (Not available at hiring event)

Part-time role within the Community Outreach department for the 2026-2027 season, focused on expanding the Carolina Hurricanes brand presence in the community and at home games.

About the role

The Community Outreach department connects with fans of all ages through youth hockey and education programs, nonprofit event support, and brand activations across the Triangle and North Carolina. This position is event-based; hours depend on the number of events scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Work off-site events (street hockey, school programs, sponsor appearances, festivals) to promote the Carolina Hurricanes.
• Set up and break down activations, distribute promotional items, and interact with fans.
• Sell 50/50 raffle tickets during home games as a fundraiser for the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.
• Travel within North Carolina for events.
• Provide exceptional customer service to fans, event attendees, and corporate partners.
• Assist with Carolina Hurricanes Foundation special events and other game-day activations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Personable demeanor with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Previous marketing or promotional experience preferred; experience with a college or professional sports team is a plus.
• Energetic and outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and work outside in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
• Desire to learn and work within the sports industry.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have 80% availability for scheduled events.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Pay

$10.00 per hour.
