About the role

Code Ninjas Dayton is the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids coding franchise, where kids ages 5-17 learn coding by building video games, Robotics & AI in a fun and inspiring environment.

We are looking for a Part-Time Coding Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement.

Are you experienced in working with children? Would you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Are you a high school student, Computer Science or Engineering college student, recent graduate, or a working adult passionate about technology and mentoring kids? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities

• Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
• Teach and mentor kids using our coding curriculum
• Help students develop problem-solving, creativity, and critical-thinking skills
• Create a fun, positive and safe environment in which students can grow
• Follow opening/closing duties daily
• Clean dojo throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
• Report daily to Center Manager with respect to day’s activities and productivity in dojo

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; prior coding experience in at least one language is required
• Experience with Scratch, MakeCode, JavaScript, C#, or Unity is a plus
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and enjoys working with kids
• Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring, child care etc.)
• Works well with others; collaborates
• Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments

Schedule

Flexible 4-6 hour shifts per week, with additional 20-hour camp opportunities during school breaks. Tuesday, Wednesday: 4pm–8pm; Friday: 4pm–7pm; Saturday: 11am–3pm.

Pay

$11.00 – $13.00 per hour.
