Part Time Childcare Educator - New Canaan Public Schools

About the role

Educator Right At School provides before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning, support schools, and give families peace of mind by building a team of mission-driven individuals passionate about fostering a love of learning and creating safe, engaging experiences for children.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum for the day, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
• Lead by Example: Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring children enjoy themselves while meeting program goals.
• Maintain a Safe Environment: Monitor the environment, address potential hazards, and follow all safety protocols.
• Effective Communication: Communicate with a varied audience including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Prioritize Safety and Joy: Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals.
• Flexible Work Schedule: Support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• State-specific requirements: Ability to meet state-specific requirements; First Aid and CPR-in-person; Cleared tuberculosis test; Proof of MMR; 540 hours documented experience in working with unrelated children.

Pay

$16.00-$18.00 per hour (based on education and experience)

Monday to Friday, 3:10 PM - 6:00 PM
