Part Time Childcare Educator - Governor Mifflin School District

About the role

Educator Right At School provides before and after school extended day programs focusing on disguised learning activities and daily enrichment. The role involves driving the mission through daily program meetings, organizing and facilitating activities, leading by example, prioritizing safety and joy, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Daily Program Meetings: Review goals and updates, share ideas, discuss professional progress, encourage collaboration, and team accountability.
• Organize and Facilitate Daily Activities: Prepare activities and curriculum, ensure alignment with program objectives, lead structured daily fitness, activities, and curriculum.
• Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure children are enjoying themselves while meeting program goals by modeling positive guidance and effective classroom management.
• Monitor the Environment: Address potential hazards, follow safety protocols, document attendance, incidents, and observations.
• Effective Communication: Communicate with a varied audience including children, parents, staff, and school personnel.

Requirements

• Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• Able to lift 25 lbs.
• Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania State Requirements: Meet state-specific requirements, complete First Aid and CPR training, and pass a tuberculosis test.
• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Certification: Possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification preferred, but not required.
• Education: Hold a High School Diploma/GED with 30 college credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.

Pay

$15.00-$18.00 per hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 8:45 AM and 3:20 PM - 6:00 PM.
