Part Time Child Care Teacher

About the role

The Old Colony YMCA is seeking Childcare Teachers to plan and implement a program of activities that ensures each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. This position upholds the Y’s mission and adheres to EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony Y policies. The role focuses on fostering innovation, creativity, and positive relationships in a fun, safe, and educational environment for children.

Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure compliance with EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and Old Colony Y policies (Child and Youth Care, Child Guidance, Health Care).
• Plan, develop, and implement a curriculum aligned with EEC regulations, NAEYC standards, and YMCA policies.
• Tailor lesson plans to individual children’s interests, abilities, needs, talents, cultural diversity, and learning styles.
• Lead daily activities and maintain a well-arranged, engaging, and safe classroom environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age or a high school diploma or equivalent and meet EEC requirements for education and experience for Teacher.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
• EEC Teacher Certification.

Part-time positions are available, with shifts ranging between 6:45 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at our Brockton Center.
