Part Time Certified Nurse Assistant - CNA

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in the Wound Care Center, supporting the RN or LPN/LVN in delivering comprehensive patient care. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, along with a Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care before, during, and after visits/examinations
• Assists patients with mobility, transfers, positioning, and the application of orthosis/prostheses
• Dresses patient wounds as directed by the RN
• Aids in vein clinic activities after completing Healogics Vein Clinic training
• Participates in the intake and discharge processes, collecting and recording vital signs and patient data
• Takes wound photographs and measurements, tracks treatment responses, and reports unusual observations
• Completes unit tasks such as cleaning exam areas, sterilizing instruments, and assisting with HBO therapy

Requirements

• At least six (6) months of relevant work experience in an acute care setting
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Effective interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities
• Teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in acute care, rehabilitation hospitals, or skilled nursing units
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Physical demands include prolonged sitting, viewing computer screens, typing, lifting up to 75 pounds, bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, and touching
