Part Time CDL Driver

About the role

Transdev is seeking an experienced Part Time CDL Driver to join our team in Silver Spring and Rockville, MD, serving Montgomery County Bus Lanes. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport buses
• Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
• Move buses/articulating buses from one location to another
• Travel as required between the Rockville and Silver Spring locations
• Work at both the Rockville and Silver Spring facilities as operational needs require
• Be available to work mandatory unscheduled overtime, including emergency call-ins, extended shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on departmental and operational needs

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills
• At least 21 years old
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
• Active CDL
• Experience with Articulating Buses
• Must be subject to a drug screen and physical
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason)
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Physical Requirements

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside
• Work alone and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day)
• Frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday
• Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
• Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job
• Tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise

Pay

Competitive compensation package of minimum $18.00 – Maximum $22.00. Following the successful completion of the 90-day probationary period, employees may be eligible for a wage increase.
