Part-Time CDL A Local Driver

Part-time role with a starting pay of $36.50 per hour.

About the Role

• Transport, load, and unload freight safely and efficiently between Service Centers and customers
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers
• Read and interpret maps, road signs, shipping papers, and hazardous materials markings
• Properly document freight control processes and affix required placards
• Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles
• Assist customers with shipping paperwork
• Safely operate a forklift for loading/unloading when needed
• Participate in training and improvement programs
• Adhere to operational procedures in the Dayton Freight Driver/Dockworker Manual
• Available for irregular work schedules, alternating shifts, or assignments

Requirements

• At least 23 years of age
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsement
• Valid DOT Physical/Medical Card
• No DUI or reckless operation convictions in the past 3 years
• Fewer than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
• Basic math skills and fluency in English
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Able to pass a drug screen

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform physical tasks such as:

• Standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Ascending and descending from the vehicle
• Handling freight, delivery equipment, and occasional manual material handling
• Use of powered tools or devices
