Part-Time Cashier

About the role

We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented, and experienced individual to work as a Cashier in our Ambler location. This position is part-time, with an anticipated 20-29 hours per week. Open availability is preferred, and weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer their questions, help them locate items, and provide advice or recommendations.
• Operate scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
• Balance the cash register and generate reports for credit and debit sales.
• Accept payments, ensure all prices and quantities are accurate, and provide a receipt to every customer.
• Process refunds and exchanges, and resolve complaints.
• Bag or wrap purchases to ensure safe transport.
• Follow all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items, such as alcohol or cigarettes.
• Maintain a clean workspace.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Ability to stand for entire shift (5-8 hours).
• Good math skills.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing conditions.
• Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment when necessary.
• Commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-operative Association.

Pay

$16.00 per hour.
