Part Time - Cashier

Role Overview: This position involves operating cash registers and electronic scanners to process customer purchases accurately, handling various payment methods, and providing courteous customer service. Responsibilities include weighing and bagging items, understanding equipment operation, maintaining store displays, and ensuring proper product identification and signage. The role also requires communicating store programs, adhering to safety, security, and food safety policies, and keeping the work area clean and well-stocked. Additional duties may include stocking and assisting in other departments based on customer needs. Qualifications & Skills: A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Prior retail experience is advantageous. Candidates should possess good verbal communication, customer service, organizational skills, and basic math literacy. The role demands physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform bending or twisting as needed. A focus on detail, safety, and adherence to policies is essential. Key Duties Operate cash register and scanner for transactions involving various product types.Process payments accurately, including cash, checks, credit cards, and government assistance programs.Weigh, bag, and handle products with care.Maintain store displays and signage, report pricing errors.Communicate store promotions and policies to customers.Follow safety, security, and food handling protocols.Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked.Assist with stocking and perform other tasks as needed to enhance customer experience.
