Part-Time Cashier

About the role

The Retail Associate – Cashier at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. in Opelika, AL, is responsible for ensuring customers have an amazing shopping experience by providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, and soliciting "Round-Up" donations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures each guest receives outstanding customer service.
• Aids customers with purchases and pricing.
• Operates the cash register system and applies basic math skills including addition and subtraction of money.
• Understands item pricing and "color of the week."
• Maintains the sales floor and dressing room appearance by organizing shelves, putting away carts, and returning merchandise.
• Asks customers to "Round-Up" totals in support of the mission and/or scholarship programs.
• Meets or exceeds daily retail store goals.
• Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment, preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.

Schedule

• Full-time positions average 20 - 25 hours per week.
• Hours will fluctuate based on business needs (i.e., seasonal changes, donation volumes, etc.).
• Operating days will fluctuate based on the store location.
• The Retail Associate – Cashier must be available to work any shifts Monday through Sunday.
