About the role

The role involves assisting management in creating an environment that promotes teamwork, continuous improvement, learning, customer satisfaction, and high standards of service. Responsibilities include preparing event paperwork and reports, ensuring adherence to company and departmental procedures, managing staff tasks, supervising team members, and resolving customer issues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares event paperwork and post-event reports.
  • Ensures all company and department procedures are in place for quality products and services, and communicates with management regarding events and catering operations.
  • Monitors employee uniforms, policies, and practices, and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Organizes and assigns staff tasks for events, supervises event procedures, and coordinates event details with Event Managers.
  • Communicates with employees about event goals and expectations, resolves customer issues, and reports any customer relations issues to management.
  • Oversees proper cleanup and end-of-event procedures according to Catering standards.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all company policies and relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least six months of experience in food service/retail operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
  • A Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education and training: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Mathematical skills: Ability to apply basic math concepts.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instructions.
  • Physical demands: Ability to operate food service equipment, use a variety of office machines, and reach, lift, and move objects.

Supplemental Information

The position requires a flexible schedule, including opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year. Candidates must be available to work these flexible schedules.
