Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility: cooking the food
- Safe preparation and handling of food
- Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities
- Serving of food
- Aiding with record keeping
- Attending training meetings as required
- Reporting to work as scheduled, signing the posted time sheet, and remaining on the job until dismissal by the manager
- Notifying the manager and the main office at the earliest possible time when unable to work
- Maintaining pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others
- Following all policies of the School Committee and instructions of the Cafeteria Manager relating to safety measures, sanitation practices, personnel standards, work techniques, and methods of performing duties
- Performing duties involved in the safe preparation and handling of food, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, and serving of food
- Aiding with food preparation
- Portioning food
- Cleaning kitchen equipment and work area including floor
- Sets up serving counter
- Serving food on line after receiving instructions as to portion size
- Washing dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans and utensils
- Washing dining room tables
- Unpacking supplies and assisting with stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves
- Operating equipment properly, maintaining safety standards at all times
- Performing duties as assigned by Cafeteria Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- Food Safety Certification for Managers
- ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate
