Part-Time Bed Control Officer

About the role

The role involves managing patient bed assignments, registration, and transfers to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Performing patient transfer functions
• Maintaining transfer and discharge lists
• Assisting with admission and registration processes
• Coordinating patient placement according to guidelines
• Collaborating with Case Management and Financial Services to initiate financial clearance for transferred patients
• Reporting any interruptions in bed assignment operations
• Assisting with distributing computer-generated reports such as census data
• Ensuring accurate documentation for expirations to facilitate timely death certificate preparation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of hospital or healthcare registration experience
• Typing speed of 20 wpm
• Proficiency with office equipment

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Schedule

This is a per diem role with a flexible schedule; hospital experience and a variable schedule are preferred.
