About the role

The Schwab Bank Platform Team creates a collaborative connection between Business and Technology to identify, define, prioritize, and deliver high-value Core Banking business capabilities and competitive bank features while optimizing for operational efficiency and scale. This role focuses on check operations, including check deposits and disbursements, with a commitment to delivering efficient solutions that maximize trust while minimizing risk.

As a Banking Operations Associate in Check Operations, you will promote client loyalty by providing high-quality support to internal and external customers, handling transactions that require attention to detail and priority management. You will serve as a primary contact for branch partners, clients, and internal teams, delivering "best-in-class" service while managing and evaluating risk.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and resolve client issues related to check transactions, helping clients "Own their Tomorrow" by navigating money movement solutions and services at Schwab.
  • Problem-solve and conduct research or special requests using internal processing systems, phone, and email.
  • Identify situations requiring escalation and act quickly in high-risk environments.
  • Perform detailed work and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced environment with team members and internal partners.
  • Proactively educate clients and internal partners on processes and services.
  • Support business initiatives by developing strong partnerships and producing innovative solutions.
  • Work cooperatively in a diverse environment to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in client service or operations, with brokerage/financial industry experience preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and use multiple systems (Windows, databases, email, internet research) simultaneously.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent operational, follow-up, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and develop a full understanding of the business.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, audit, and compliance policies related to the financial industry (to be obtained).
  • Positive attitude, team orientation, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy due to the risk inherent in assigned responsibilities.

Schedule

This is a part-time position up to 19 hours per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
