Summary/Objective
Landmark Academy seeks a Part-Time At-Risk Teacher and Part-Time Family Engagement Specialist to support students in the Virtual Landmark Academy. The primary goal is to ensure students are learning subject matter aligned with State standards and Landmark Academy curriculum.
About the Role
The Part-Time At-Risk Teacher and Part-Time Family Engagement Specialist roles are integral to supporting students' academic and family engagement needs. The At-Risk Teacher focuses on accelerating academic performance and providing instructional strategies, while the Family Engagement Specialist motivates parents and tutors students virtually.
Responsibilities
- Analyze State, District, and classroom data to inform instruction and student progress.
- Work with students to enhance academic performance and prepare for standardized tests.
- Become proficient in NWEA testing and Data Drop processes.
- Develop and deliver instructional activities and strategies in core academic areas.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records and communicate with parents about their child's performance.
- Pursue continuing education to stay current in teaching methodologies and best practices.
- Ensure students' behavior plans are effectively implemented and monitored.
- Provide regular communication with students and families, including virtual tutoring sessions and attendance tracking.
- Supervise students during live classes, small group sessions, and individual meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., education, special education).
- Michigan Teaching Certification in the assigned area.
- Pre-service experience as required for certification.
- Experience working with at-risk students and families.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
- Ability to adapt to a virtual learning environment.
