About the role

Assumes responsibility for the development and education of children, modeling developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies and procedures within their assigned classroom. The Part Time Associate Teacher supports the development, care, and education of children while adhering to agency policies and fostering a safe, nurturing environment that meets both Title 5 and Title 22 regulations. This role helps build strong, collaborative partnerships with families in a high-quality, play-based child development program accredited through Quality Matters. The San Miguel campus serves children from 2 years through 8th grade.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and education of children in Preschool to School age rooms.
  • Model developmentally appropriate curriculum and agency policies.
  • Oversee classroom routines and meal-time clean-up.
  • Lead through modeling, structure, and relationship-based care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willing to work at any of the CYW school sites as needed.
  • Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • 12 CORE ECE units REQUIRED; Associate Teacher Permit or higher desired.
  • 6+ months experience in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Must start within 3 weeks.
  • Live Scan required (reimbursed after 90 days).
  • Passionate about early childhood education and confident in your abilities.
  • Reliable, nurturing, and a strong team player with excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to position yourself at floor level to interact with children and operate classroom equipment.
  • Ability to observe and identify details at close and far range.
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with others.

Pay

$27–$29 per hour (based upon experience).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 4–6 hours per day (1pm–6pm or 2pm–6pm).
