Part-time Associate - 522 Montebello

About the role

The Part-time Associate at Smart & Final 522 Montebello operates within a community-focused grocery store. This position requires candidates to have basic PC/Outlook skills, a retail management certificate, and the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and may order, receive, and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
• Affirm proper pricing on merchandise, check product date codes, and stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale, set up advertising/promotional displays, review invoices/bills for accuracy, and clean and maintain sanitation standards in all areas of the store.
• Operate a cash register, process payments, make change, process refunds, verify customer eligibility for alcohol sales, offer assistance, load customer purchases, and perform basic bookkeeping duties.
• Record lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English.
• Interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
