Part-Time Assistant Manager - Level 1

About the role

As a BoxLunch Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll support the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits, support daily operations, and meet sales targets. With every $10 spent, BoxLunch donates a meal to Feeding America, directly benefiting the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Provide an amazing shopping experience through product knowledge, customer service skills, and enthusiasm for pop culture.
• Step in to cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when the Manager is unavailable.
• Open and close the store as needed, including handling keys and managing store security.
• Process sales transactions, drive add-on sales (e.g., BOPIS and curbside pickup), and close out the register, reporting any shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand and work toward store sales plans, comp sales goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram changes, including store maps, wall fixtures, and merchandising mix.
• Communicate fashion trend information to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Maintain store organization, including stock room tidiness and overall store appearance.
• Help develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store alongside you.
• Perform any other activities assigned by your Store Leader.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of retail store experience.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop your team.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Able to navigate the store, merchandise product using approved equipment, and lift/pack/unpack boxes of merch weighing up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
