Part-Time Assistant Manager - Level 1

About the role

As a BoxLunch Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll support the store leadership team in providing the best customer experience, ensuring fans can get their hands on the merch they love. You’ll use your fandom knowledge to help train new recruits, support daily operations, and help meet sales targets—all while contributing to our mission of eliminating hunger through every $10 spent.

Responsibilities

• Provide an amazing shopping experience through product knowledge, customer service, and enthusiasm for pop culture.
• Step in to cover the sales floor and provide leadership support when the Manager is unavailable.
• Open and close the store as needed, including handling keys and managing store security.
• Process sales transactions, drive add-on sales (e.g., BOPIS and curbside pickup), and close out the register, reporting any shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
• Understand and work toward store sales plans, comp sales goals, and key KPIs like UPT and ADT.
• Assist with planogram changes, including store layout, wall, fixture, and merchandising updates.
• Communicate fashion trend insights to management and HQ partners.
• Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
• Maintain store organization, including stock room tidiness and overall store presentation.
• Help develop and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store alongside you.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by your Store Leader.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of retail store experience.
• Strong skills in communication, time management, professionalism, operations, and team development.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical retail tasks (with or without reasonable accommodation), including navigating the store, merchandising product, and lifting boxes up to 50 pounds.
