About the role
Cinemark Assistant Managers assist in the overall operation of the theatre. They ensure policies and procedures are being followed and operational standards are achieved. Assistant Managers are cross-trained in all departments to support where needed and provide inspirational training to all employees. After completing the Management Accreditation Program and working for a minimum of six months, Assistant Managers can progress to Senior Assistant Manager, Theatre Manager, or General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Follow the direction of the General Manager and support their decisions in communication with staff
- Work in all departments and theatre job functions
- Train and coach team members in their specific job functions
- Assist in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager
- Inspect the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, property, roof, exterior signage, and equipment; report repair needs to the General Manager
- Ensure team members follow the dress code and provide superior customer service
- Learn and enforce Cinemark’s policies and procedures with all team members fairly and consistently
- Report all employee relations issues to the General Manager or via www.convercent.com in the General Manager’s absence
- Follow the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol and maintain high work ethic and conduct standards
- Identify and sanitize high-contact areas for employees and guests
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment while completing position-specific tasks
- Address safety or security issues (e.g., trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons)
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred
- Completion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program
- Complete basic food handling training and obtain any local or state-mandated certification, health card, or food handler’s permit where required
- Complete Safe Alcohol Service training if working with alcohol
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift
- Excellent guest service skills
- Accurate cash handling and basic math skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities; must effectively and regularly converse in and comprehend English
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Ability to take and follow direction and respond with a sense of urgency
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to train and lead others
- Conflict resolution skills
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre
- Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods
- Noise level may be moderate to high at times

Pay
Pay Range: $18.00 – $21.25 per hour
