PART TIME Assistant Manager - $21/hour

About the Role

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with the company’s mission statement and policies.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
• Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management employees.
• Perform all staff positions as required.
• Operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling (threading, building-up, tearing down) and maintenance.
• Maintain working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, TMS operation, and related skills.
• Ensure alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
• Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident reporting.
• Ensure guest satisfaction.
• Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, etc.).
• Comply with dress code policies.
• Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
• Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, and terminate employees (with oversight from the General Manager or senior management).
• Administer all applicable HR paperwork and uphold company policies.
• Control costs, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession stock, and managing inventory.
• Supervise theatre maintenance, including minor repairs and coordinating qualified personnel for larger concerns.
• Manage marketing and promotions for feature films, schedule showtimes, and ensure timely delivery of showtime information.
• Read and understand training materials on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
• Additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or senior manager.

Requirements

• Regular and consistent attendance.
• At least three months of supervisory experience, or 6 months of theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof (subject to VP approval).
• If assigned duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete any legally required state or local training, as well as Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training.

Qualifications

• Language Ability: Strong public speaking skills; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with employees, vendors, and corporate staff; active listening and clear explanation of information.
• Math Ability: Perform calculations accurately and identify/correct errors.
• Reasoning Ability: Identify problems, gather data, evaluate information, and recommend solutions; work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Computer and Office Skills: Proficient with PC platforms, basic office programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets), copiers, and filing systems; attention to detail.
• Personal Skills: Interface effectively with customers, the public, and coworkers; sensitivity to others’ feelings; ability to set goals, budget time, and prioritize tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees, including training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, resolving problems, and disciplining employees (under the direction of the General Manager). May assist with interviewing and hiring.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$21/hour
