Part-time Assistant Dance coach

About the Role

Part-time Assistant Coach for Dance at the University of Pikeville (UPIKE), a NAIA School competing in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties in all phases of the program, including recruiting, player evaluation, practice planning and implementation, off-season conditioning, fundraising, and scheduling.
• Assist with all phases of competitive NAIA-compliant recruiting.
• Evaluate prospective student-athletes through game, showcase, and video observation.
• Execute and evaluate practice, including video coordination.
• Assist with developing routines for the team.
• Practice planning and implementation.
• Off-season conditioning.
• Assist with the direction of camps, fundraising, and other program development activities.
• Scheduling: Assist with arranging aspects of team travel, including team meals for home and away competitions and team lodging arrangements.
• Assist the Head Coach with office and administrative duties.
• Other coaching or administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the rules and regulations established by the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
• Demonstrate an ability to improve coaching skills through personal research and innovative thinking.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
• Self-motivated, flexible, and ability to work independently as well as in teams.
• Commitment to student confidentiality.
• May require occasional evening and/or weekend hours.
