About the role
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer‑focused, top‑line sales‑driven, profitable and productive store location. The Assistant Store Manager must inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core‑value behaviors—including a customer‑focused selling culture—and ensure execution of the store’s KPIs. Assistant Managers also hold store employees accountable to all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Displays a customer‑focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
- Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempts to “solve for yes” and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Maintains a clean and well‑organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
- Shares feedback from customers with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience.
- Performs as the floor supervisor role as needed to cover non‑peak periods (breaks, etc.).
- Delivers an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience with all customers.
- Holds self and others responsible for the accomplishment of all operational tasks.
- Coaches and provides feedback on Sales Associates’ performance.
- Supports associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Provides direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
- Prioritizes and delegates tasks to meet all operational needs.
- Supports and executes visual directives and maintains visual standards set by the company.
- Drives efficiency in all operational store processes.
- Maintains merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
- Maintains a clean and well‑organized stockroom and store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment.
- Ensures all store associates follow all policies, procedures and Safety Program practices.
- Reflects the PacSun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Inspires and motivates others by consistently exhibiting core‑value behaviors.
- Demonstrates willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn about product, brands, fashion and trends.
Requirements
- Passion for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in math and strong computer skills.

Physical requirements
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lb and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lb.
- Frequently sit/stand for long periods and climb ladders as needed.
- Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as reach, twist or squat.
- Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom and office areas.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
Schedule
This is a part‑time position with a required range of 20–40 hours per week. Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods is required.
