Responsibilities

  • Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
  • Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats
  • Absorb cash and handle transfers
  • Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
  • Take appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehend individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective
  • Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
  • Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
  • Assist in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor
  • Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls
  • Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores
  • Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores including personal property, equipment for service, and firearms
  • Watch facilities and parking areas on foot. Direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic, while enforcing parking regulations
  • Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks
  • Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areas
  • React as necessary and assist in handling any situations – shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • College graduate preferred
  • Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
  • Prior Loss prevention (2-3 years) experience
  • Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment

Pay

$16.00 per hour

Schedule

Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m., Monday-Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability of two weekends per month is required, three is preferred. Average hours per week is 15-20
