Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments.
- Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers.
- Collaborate with special and general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
- Assist in developing IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
- Experience with assistive technology and hearing devices.
- Knowledge of deaf culture and community.
- Fluency in American Sign Language.
