Part Time ASL/Interpreter Position

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments.
  • Facilitate communication between deaf/hard-of-hearing students, teachers, and peers.
  • Collaborate with special and general education teachers to ensure inclusive classroom environments.
  • Assist in developing IEP goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
  • Teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification.
  • Experience with assistive technology and hearing devices.
  • Knowledge of deaf culture and community.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language.
