Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
- Participate in pre-task planning.
- Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
- Assist with archaeological fieldwork, including survey, excavation, artifact collection, and basic documentation.
- Conduct archaeological surveys or excavations using common archaeological tools and methods under the supervision of a Crew Chief or higher.
- Identify artifacts and basic stratigraphy, recording information on standardized forms.
- Assist more senior staff with other tasks as needed.
- Maintain equipment.
- Communicate basic information to Crew Chief or Archaeologist.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of archaeological methods and techniques.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and travel to remote locations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in archaeological fieldwork.
- Experience with archaeological survey and excavation techniques.
- Basic knowledge of GIS and digital mapping software.
