Part-Time Art Instructor – Beverly, MA

About the role

Children’s Art Classes is expanding into the Beverly, MA area and is seeking a certified Art Instructor to teach students ranging from preschool to young adults in a school environment. Instructors teach groups of up to 12 students, with some classes as small as 6, and lead larger groups during birthday parties or special events. The curriculum is provided, and all necessary supplies are furnished.

Responsibilities

• Teach structured art classes for students of varying ages (preschool to young adults).
• Maintain classroom management to Children’s Art Classes standards.
• Prepare materials for each class and monitor inventory levels.
• Deliver engaging instruction during classes, parties, and special events.
• Participate in monthly professional development training.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts in Art Education or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).
• Teaching experience, preferably with knowledge of art history and techniques.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional verbal communication and adaptability.
• Ability to demonstrate personal artistic ability (portfolio may be requested).
• Teacher credentials (evidence required).

Pay

• Paid Hourly Teaching Rate: $26.50 – $31/hr (based on experience).
• Birthday Parties or Special Events Rate: $55.50/hr.

Schedule

• 10–20 hours per week.
• Training begins in September; teaching starts the first week of October.
