Part Time After School Instructor--Edgewood
About the role
Trellis Services is hiring instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 9 to 21) diagnosed with autism in our Harford County After School Program. This part-time position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child! As a Trellis autism instructor, you will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers and gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support with community independence, daily living and recreation/leisure
- Be active and willing to run and play with clients
- Transport clients in your personal vehicle
Requirements
- Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- The ability to pass a background check
- Minimum 100 hours of working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Willing to transport clients in your personal vehicle
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs
- Ability to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run
Schedule
The After School Program is located in Edgewood 21040 and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 2:00pm-6:00pm and Wednesday 1:00pm-6:00pm. Flexible schedules are available. Additional opportunities available throughout Maryland including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Talbot counties.
Pay & benefits
