Part-Time Adult Education Advisor

Essential Job Functions

• Recruit, orient, and register new students.
• Assess student skill level and enroll in appropriate courses.
• Provide retention and follow-up of current and former students.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to provide support services as needed for identified students: career assessment, mentoring, advising, and linkages to other resources.
• Track student acquisition of support services.
• Assist with tracking and reporting of student progress toward goal completion and highlighting student success stories.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.

Minimum Requirements

• A Master’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience; OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

• Experience working with adult learners and non-traditional students.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including speaking in front of large and small groups, ability to listen effectively and respond accordingly.
• Demonstrated competence working with a diverse population.
