Part-time (20 Hrs) Clothing Clerk - Orem Utah Temple

Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with with a current temple recommend.

About the role

The Clothing Clerk provides an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple by laundering, mending, and generally caring for the clothing and linens used in the temple. This position reports to the Clothing Supervisor and provides guidance and direction to volunteers and service missionaries working in the temple.

Schedule

Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 – 9:30 pm

Responsibilities

• 60-70% – Operates commercial laundry equipment; prepares clothing and linens for use within the temple, including sorting, washing, drying, hanging, pressing, folding, and assembling items needed by patrons, workers, and others.
• 10-15% – Trains service missionaries and volunteers in daily laundry operations; oversees and prioritizes their work.
• 10-15% – Assists patrons courteously by providing temple clothing in proper sizes; ensures sufficient clothing is on-hand; may oversee clothing rental operations.
• 5-10% – Performs daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment (cleaning machinery, filters, vents, screens, etc.); changes washer chemicals as needed; spot-cleans clothing; may assist with steam-pressing and ironing; may track and maintain daily production records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of work experience, preferably in laundry, retail, or customer service.
• Ability to organize, lead, and manage volunteers.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.
• Ability to focus and stay on task.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push, and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment; climb a step stool and/or ladder; stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills.
