Summary of Work

As a Parole and Probation Officer, you will supervise individuals on parole or probation, conduct client intakes, develop case plans, and manage cases. You may also assist in parole investigations for the Parole Board and other investigations as needed. You will collaborate with the courts, law enforcement, the Parole Board, the Pardon Advisory Board, human service centers, Transitional Planning Services, and social service agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Parole and Probation Officer II: A bachelor’s degree is preferred in behavioral science, education, business, or a related field with three years of work experience in a corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota or an associate's degree with five years of work experience with individuals in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education or behavioral health setting may be considered. Must be licensable as a ND peace officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63 and pass the critical task assessment.
  • Parole and Probation Officer I: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in behavioral science, education, business, or related field or an associate's degree with two years of work experience in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota.
