Parks Seasonal Worker

About the role

The City of Gillette is seeking reliable, motivated Seasonal Workers to assist with various landscaping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Planting, watering, laying sod and mowing grass
• Weed eating and grounds and buildings maintenance and cleaning
• Performing tasks at City Parks and other City maintained locations
• Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, and walking
• Lifting light and occasionally heavy objects
• Climbing ladders
• Using tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
• Distinguishing between shades of color
• Utilizing the sense of smell
• Working outdoors in warm or inclement weather
• Being exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts
• Wearing protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Requirements

• MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE
• HAVE A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
• Successfully pass a background screening and drug screening
• WORK 40 HOURS PER WEEK FOR NO LONGER THAN SIX MONTHS

Qualifications

• Reliable and motivated
• Ability to perform tasks in warm or inclement weather
• Physical ability to lift light and occasionally heavy objects
• Ability to climb ladders and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
• Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between shades of color
• Ability to utilize the sense of smell
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protective device usage

Pay

• New Seasonals: $14.00 / hour
• Second Year Returning Seasonals: $15.00 / hour
• Third Year or More Returning Seasonals: $16.00 / hour

Schedule

• Full-time position lasting no longer than six months
