Parks Maintenance Worker I

About the role

Cedar City Parks and Outdoor Facilities seeks a Parks Maintenance I to join their team. The position closes on July 22, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of parks and outdoor recreation facilities, grounds and general environment.
• Works under general supervision performing general building maintenance; assures proper operation of lighting fixtures, doors, windows and plumbing.
• May assist in framing, painting, roofing or other skilled construction and maintenance activities related to carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
• Assists with proper maintenance and repair of playground equipment.
• Assists in cemetery maintenance, clean up and digging of graves.
• Aids in the installation of irrigation systems.
• Operates lawn mowing equipment; assists in pruning activities on trees, shrubs and plants; removes dead, diseased, or injured trees.
• Performs general landscape and gardening duties, including watering and maintenance of potted plants and shrubs.
• Prepares ball diamonds, operates various small equipment to turn soil; chalks field boarders; assures lawns are trim and attractive.
• Operates a variety of types of small and lightweight equipment.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.

Minimum Qualifications may include sufficient education and experience to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties.
